The school was inaugurated on Vijayadasami Day in the same year.
In 1957, soon after the formation of the Kerala State, the newly elected Chief Minister Mr. E.M. S. Namboothiripad actively supported the initiative to start a School in Delhi to promote the Malayalam language and culture. Initially, the Government of Kerala allotted the premises of Cochin House, (now Kerala House, Delhi), to start the school. Later, the Government of Kerala under Chief Minister Namboothiripad granted 2.5 acres of land in the Travancore House Compound for the school. Since the beginning, the Kerala School is known for promoting cultural diversity and excellence in education and co-curricular activities.
We are committed to maintaining a high academic standard in the fields of science, humanities and commerce. For the past six decades, the school consistently imparted democratic values and scientific temper through our students, alumni, and teachers. The school continues to promote cultural diversity in education, co-curricular activities, sports, music and performing arts and language learning.
